Current CE requirements:

  • 3 Cranial credits
  • 3 Movement credits
  • 3 Elective credits
  • 1 credit = 1 day = 7.5 hours

New CE requirements starting January 1st, 2018*:

  • 10 Intermediate credits
  • 5 Movement credits
  • 3 Elective credits
  • 1 credit = 1 day = 7.5 hours

* If you are registering for the Advanced Training with Jan Sultan March 12th, 2018, your credits will be evaluated under the current CE requirements.

Transition Process

How to document your current CE classes as “Intermediate” credits:

  1. All necessary documentation must be submitted to RAC on or before March 1st, 2018.
  2. Please submit copies of certificates for any CE classes completed on or before to December 31st, 2017.
  3. The certificate should include the instructor’s name, the title for the class, the dates of attendance and the amount of credits (1 credit = 1 day = 7.5 hours).
  4. As many as 9 “Manipulation” credits and as many as 3 “Cranial” credits can be documented to fulfill the new requirement of 10 Intermediate credits.
  5. Our preference would be for you to scan and email certificates to info@rolfingcanada.org.  However, if that is not possible, please contact us so we can figure out another solution.
  6. We can only accept CE class certificates after the date of your Basic Training certificate.
  7. If you are uncertain whether a CE class will count or not, simply submit it for review.
  8. Once we have “documented” your Intermediate credits, they will be eligible to use towards the Advanced Training until Dec 31, 2025.

Additional Information

What CE classes will be considered for documentation:

  1. Any RISI approved CE class designated as “manipulation,” or “cranial”, will immediately be eligible for Intermediate credit.
  2. Any CE classes taken from a certified Rolfing® practitioner in good faith designated as “manipulation,” or “cranial”, may be eligible for Intermediate credit upon review.
  3. Any CE classes taken from a SI practitioner with a structural integration perspective and content including structure, anatomy, and touch may be eligible for Intermediate credit upon review.
  4. Any CE class taken from other disciplines (such as osteopathy, the Barral Institute – visceral, Upledger – cranial, etc.) with a structural integration perspective and content including structure, anatomy, and touch may also be eligible for Intermediate credit upon review
  5. Mentorships may be eligible for Intermediate credit as well upon review.  In place of a certificate, submit a letter from the mentor including your name, the date(s), length of time, and what was covered during the mentorship.
  6.  Only CE classes taught by a Rolf Movement instructor are eligible for Movement credits.
  7. Essentially any CE taken in order to advance your professional development is eligible for Elective credit.

What’s different about the new CE requirements:

  • CE classes that fulfilled the “Cranial” and / or “Manipulation” requirements will be integrated into the Intermediate credits.
  • Intermediate classes have been designed by the US CE committee with oversight from the Board and Advanced faculty, and will address Rolfing® Structural Integration as a bridge from the Basic Training into the Advanced Training – hence the name “Intermediate” credits.  The purpose of these classes is meant for the reinforcement and refinement of the Basic Curriculum.
  • Intermediate classes will be taught by Basic or Advanced Rolfing® instructors on the faculty roster.
  • Movement CE requirements will increase from 3 credits to 5 credits.  Since the Movement Faculty has always approved Movement CE classes offered, you will continue to receive CE credit for these classes.
